Storage Units Serving Noble Park and Dandenong
For your convenience, we’ve included helpful hints on this page to answer many frequently asked questions on how to safely storing your items:
Appliances
Wet appliances, such as fridges and washing machines, should be stored clean and DRY. Mould or rust has the potential to damage your appliances and prevent them from functioning properly.
- Fridge - Make sure the door is kept open to allow adequate ventilation.
- Washing Machine - Make sure there is no water in the bottom of your machine.
Furniture
Drop sheets will help keep dust from getting into your furniture and hard furniture should be protected with a blanket, or bubble wrap.
Crockery
Firm packing with lots of paper will help keep china and delicate items from breaking. Keep weight in mind (i.e. don't fill a large box with china, as it will be heavy to move and damage could occur).
Stack fragile boxes on top of heavier boxes/items.
Mirrors and paintings
Do not store these flat as the glass will break with the slightest pressure.
Store mirrors and sheets of glass on their side.
Do not sit glass directly on a floor. There must be some wrapping or other soft material between the glass and the floor.
Mowers
Keep in mind that mowers smell. Remove all petrol, oil, old grass cuttings and dirt, as this is an ideal way for unwanted critters to find their way into your unit.
Stereos, televisions, computers
These items are sensitive to dust and mishandling. Wrap well, and put in storage boxes. Seal the boxes and stack on top of heavier items.
Remove batteries
Take batteries out of appliances
